Loved by “The BELOVED”

Our hearts are meant to be filled by God, poured into by a Love that overflows and is everlasting. The Sovereign One has put His Spirit in your heart. We are each born, fathomed by a Father greater than we could ever imagine with our minds; One that has created us and seeks to lovingly reach near to each us in a most powerful way. The Almighty seeks His Beloveds, He reaches with His Hand and stretches across every land, every culture, to every corner of every heart no matter what. “He finds us where we are”.

“The Lord God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17

Recently while listening to my pastor’s sermon on John 3.16-18, I became filled with awe and a renewed expanse in my heart’s view of what God’s Love is. The entire of it stretched again like a canvas that is constantly being challenged as I grow. At that moment another veil lifted, a light shone brighter and God’s immensity leaped to a measure that I could not fathom with my mind. My heart leaped for he spoke of the “cascading love of God”.

“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.” I was hearing these words in a new way because of this sermon. The depth of God’s love was so great that after mankind fell, broke all promise with him, worshipped idols and turned away he could not turn away. He sent his Son to save us. His greatest gift to us is the salvation that we receive when we believe in the message that Christ brought to us.

Matthew 17:5
While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!”

The most important and first purpose in life is to know God. In Knowing God, we come into the midst of His Almighty Love. Receiving this unalterable and eternal  Love stirs our hearts to behold God. Ephesians 1:11 says, “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. “

Hebrews 4:14 “Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect …”

We can only draw near to God in by placing our complete faith in Jesus Christ who gives us access to God. It is taught in scripture that after the resurrection of Jesus, The Holy Spirit is the intercessor for Him.

Titus 3:6 God poured out the Holy Spirit abundantly on us through Jesus Christ our Savior.

In the journey of experiencing a relationship with God, the gift of Grace marks a new birth. We are born into a new heart and mind that lives in Christ. By faith in Him as our salvation, belief in Him as the Son of God, we declare ourselves owned as “heirs to The Father”, his children, born of His Kingdom and no longer belonging to sin, the past and anything before that moment of birth in Him. We become Christian, which means “using the Greek derivative”- belonging to Christ.

Galatians 4:6-7
” Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.”

The One that cried out “Abba, Father” was Jesus Christ, the Son of God who died for our sins on the Cross so that we would no longer be ‘slaves to sin’. He died to atone for the sins of all mankind. We learn about this in the Doctrine of Atonement

We learn that there is a sacrifice inherence in receiving new life. We are born anew and in doing so, we die to the old. That sacrifice, given by The Lord, Jesus was for all mankind. His sacrificial life, suffering on The Cross and Resurrection brought the New Covenant between God and man.

It is with our hearts that we belong. Our desires sift. From gazing at the Word and Light of Christ one increasingly longs to become like the Beloved One. My pastor has often said.

We become what we behold.” When we Beholding God we are transformed by degree, our hearts, minds, lives, and relationships are altered in miraculous ways.  We become His Beloveds as He lifts veil by veil and reveals His Love in the remarkable journey inside of His Kingdom, here and now.

Then, as His Beloveds, we must Love More and Seek to Know Him well…

We are meant to Love one another generously in the way that we have been loved first, so very lavishly by God. Scripture speaks of God’s love, His Beloved and us as His Beloved.

1 John 3:1-2
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

Our Father’s Love is Merciful without end or measure. Being loved as His means receiving the fullness of Mercy pouring like an unending river of His Eternal Life. We can only behold and Praise. His Love and Mercy endure forever.

Psalm 136 is a special Psalm, with each one of its 26 verses repeated the phrase, His mercy endures forever. “In Jewish tradition Psalm 136 has been called the Great Hallel (or Great Psalm of Praise). It does not use the words hallelu jah, but it is called the Great Hallel for the way it rehearses God’s goodness in regard to his people and encourages them to praise him for his merciful and steadfast love.” (James Montgomery Boice)
