Hold this Dear Mountain
My heart does long for a mountain to hold
with deep embrace and prayers that unfold
into the sweetened winds, as all things are told.
Do you see the rock, the boulder, the tree?
They are each a friend, they are dear to me.
The mountain waits; the ancients see.
They bid my heart, they set me free.
Rocky heights rush towards a heaven rare,
Oh Holy Spirit, I feel Thee there!
My Own is lifted, endowed in this Air.
My soul soars throughout, as on the wings of a dove
In embrace with the Earth, held so rare, high above.
Nature’s shoulders keep vigil, they see; they love.
Oh, hold this dear Mountain, it’s the Lord’s Treasure Trove.

I Long to Feel the Wind Once More
I long to feel the wind once more,
The crashing wave of life against
My heart’s most hidden and thirsty core.
I alone must seal the cry
Of history’s winding relentless roar.
I call, fallout, curl into grace and sigh
I must breathe the Divine for Godly restore.
Bring forward the Winds that carry me back to Mine
That quake to find us and bring Sacred bind.

May I Gather One Rose?
Each morning I wake
To a single day’s call
Without a bid to converse
With the future at all.
A breeze from the curtains
Does lift and sway
With sealed message of secrets
Swept into this day.
Light or dark, rain, sun or cold;
It all moves throughout,
With duty and purpose bold.
God’s landscape reveals
Ancient mysteries untold.
Might I gather one rose
Before it is called to unfold?
It gives me some gain
Yet I destroy the life
Before it bears the fate so ordained.
I am chosen by each hour
As the sun makes its way
Through valley, mountain, desert
And the ocean’s eve display.
A single step in God’s garden
Can ever be known.
You cannot take tomorrow’s wind
And bring it today, home.
Nature’s true moments
Are given to equate all desire,
Then each and every treasure
Becomes a world entire.
