I am the Heart ~a poem by Linda Willows

I am the heart that beats until
there is no other silenced will,
in places that would rather still,
I challenge yet to feel and spill.

Dare me not to fall away.
Dare my soul to rise this day,
wrapping each my own fate’s stay
with love that keeps, that binds my way.

When season comes to find me home,
I will be softened, roamed to bone;
lived within each corner of stone
that bound and pulled this life from throne.

But due will be the glory of
such mighty freedoms from above.
My Heart should find its dear Belove,
and there be with all deepest Love.

  1. Dear Linda, What a fully involving description of our journey into being, and our return to our place of rest, and beauty. Where we meet our true love, the other part of our being, who watched, and waited, with love so patient, at our innocence, and for our homecoming. I love the insight of your poetry….

  4. Hi Linda! I haven’t visited your wonderful spot for a while… still awesome, congrats! 🙂
I did write about “my heart”, too, but in Romanian… in fact, it’s an international blog, if you ever have some spare time, you’ll find a lot of posts in English…

you may recognize “my heart, a bird” by Rabindranath Tagore and certainly E. E. Cummings’ poem “i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)”… I do hope you’ll enjoy – at least – the songs… 🙂
