In Solitaire ~a poem by Linda Willows

In solitaire I walk this morn,
with non but light’s soft hue adorn.
Within this path that finds my soul,
I pray Gods’ keeping, life found whole.
For in taking of all things;
such swift removal times can bring…

I root myself upon one Bright
and hold Thy stance with all my might…
In solitaire the Soul is known
begotten, loved and never Lone.

  3. begotten is such a rare word, yet what better way to describe the true self, the one the ego fears the most, the one true guide we search forever and find in our hand …. lovely Linda – gfs

  7. You have really gone to an important line in this poem…”the swift removal times can bring”…is the essential nature of mortal life, always changing…one cannot grasp, nor hold any worldly thing too tightly, nor condition, nor desire…..how often does Life turn swiftly in its course, do “things…possessions of the mind, heart or existence find their own release or from burden find a way to excavate themselves of a natural course….still all motions…changes as energy flowing and finding itself drawn to Its Source. We too, shed, and whether in delight, bliss or temporary distress find freedom in the path of opening to the Oneness of the Eternal Self, Unchanging and in Loves Presence with the Sacred Creator…never Alone.

  8. You captured the essence of our being… for in solitaire, we awake and find the Light, as the Light seeks after us.. and as your words say so beautifully… “in solitaire the Soul is known begotten, loved and never Lone”.

  9. “solitaire” means lonely, recluse, loner in French… “un solitaire” means also a diamond, like your poem… 🙂 Our soul is never alone…

      1. My pleasure, Linda… French is my 3rd language, after English(my favourite one!) and Romanian(my mother-tongue). I lived in the US for 5 years and I’ve been to DC twice…
        Small world, indeed! 🙂 My very best, now and always…
