“The Silence” ~a poem by Linda Willows

The Silence, it wanders throughout my heart’s veils,
leading, perceiving and revealing life’s tales.
Gently dusting and brushing with petals and dew,
all the remnants and thistles that come into view.

The Silence, as peace, does comfort me so;
let it wrap and embrace each long memory in tow.
Now comes as time to begin life anew,
to cherish this good that finds way to pass through.

  2. I love that place ~ within the vastness of the universe ~ within the simple church of our soul ~ the place of quiet stillness ~ a place made less by any effort to fill it with words. In that place, the only voice I ever hear is the one of my heart. I know you know it well, Linda, for in your words, I find my voice as well. Thank you……with my love always, Bobbie

    1. I am very grateful for “The Silence” that I write of, this I cherish for peace comes in live not at the beginning, but after extracting Its’ price. This I know you understand as I write. True peace is deeper even than the Heart as we Know it or experience it in our mortal life. Life contains the veils and the illusions that draw us apart. I so deeply love, and even this must weigh and “pass through” a Veil, in a way…will it pass the test of Peace? That is a Question for the Soul to answer. If Love offers Peace, then it has transformed into one, that aspires and inspires, one Godly. I speak in your space today, dearest friend Bobbie, with your Grace and goodwill, Loving you, Linda

      1. Sure there is no question as to whether it will pass the test of peace. The only question is as to how long that may take. But today (and each day a little more) the measure of that silence grows as love grows to wipe out even the memory of anything else. It will not fail. And from that, another……and another……….and another. Until all are one – one love – one truth – one sweet glorious silence. Always love, Bobbie

  3. Silence sure has a lot to say, weired words we won’t be able to weigh even if we wanted.
    Smiles!
    Lovely piece!
    I love the rhymes, I just played around a little with some alliteration.

  4. though not an emptiness or void, rather an atmosphere so rarefied and crystalline, that the sound it carries is not of this earth. The music of the spheres … a heavenly tone that lifts us from the cacophony of earth into a world unimagined, even in dreams …

  5. So lovely Linda — can just envision the ‘silence’ “dusting and brushing with petals and dew all the remnants…” It can do just that if we find the space to allow that silence to do its magic. Very wise words here … and a reminder for us all to make that space indeed!
    Much Love to you dear one ~ R

    1. yes, Robyn! Yet you are bringing up an excellent point. We must find the space to “allow the silence” to manifest its Wonders. And we would realize that there are many kinds and levels of Silence as well….yet, I still love the image of petals and dew dusting the edges of my Silence, so Soft….and Allowing for entrance. Thank you once again for a beautiful and wise contribution to the post! Love and then more to you, Linda
